HoryZonty - Film jury

JANA PEKNÍKOVÁ

Jana Pekníková

She is a graduate of the Constantine the Philosopher University in Nitra / MA in journalism – English language and literature/ and University of Bedfordshire in London /BA (Hons) Media Production/. She has worked for various companies abroad, after returning to Slovakia she became a translator and manager, later a marketing coordinator. Moreover she worked as a camerawoman at sporting events, she attended the Summer Film School of VŠMU (Academy of Performing Arts) /in editing/ and obtained a certificate in the editing software Final Cut Pro.

She has been working in TA3 channel for more than two years, where she is responsible for editing and sound editing of news reports and publicistic programs.

PETER PIKNA

Peter Pikna

Is a graduate of film and television direction at FAMU /Film and Television School of the Academy of Performing Arts / in Prague.

His production reflects professional filming procedures. Openness to documentary forms and use of filming tools exceeds a scope of standard personal video production.

Nowadays he works in Žilina, he professionally edits various social events, private and public events, makes recordings of theatre performances, concerts, company and advertising presentations and spots.

As a cameraman, script editor and editor he has participated also in projects of the Dance Theatre Alternativ, in editing performances he cooperates also with the City Theater of Žilina.

MILAN PACKO

Milan Packo

Is a long-time active climber.

He started with summer and winter climbing in 1984. He participated in many free climbs in the High Tatras and on Northern walls of Tre Cime in the Dolomites. At the beginning of nineties he was a member of the Slovak climbing representation. He participated in expeditions to Everest, Patagonia and Aconcagua. He is a member of the International Association of Mountain Guides /UIAGM/.

His role in the jury will be looking especially at atmosphere, emotivity, uniqueness and attractiveness of films from a perspective of the sportsman actively getting around the mountains and of the man with rich life experience.

Adventures in Visegrad Region

A special block dedicated to potentials of non-traditional tourism in Poland, Hungary and the Czech Republic realized with a financial support of the International Visegrad Fund.

Expert Film Jury

Not an easy task to decide about winners of the amateur film competition will be this year shouldered by Jana Pekníková, Peter Pikna a Milan Packo.
